This hits really hard for me because I was a bullying victim and I didn’t have many friends for longer than I’d like to admit
This is an issue that I believe is enormous in scale, and should be treated with far more urgency than it is, and I would hope that all my followers agree

Reblogging because I dealt with assholes like the ones depicted here all throughout elementary and Junior high school. It’s a real problem and needs to be fought.
I may have teased some kids myself at school, but I never, I mean NEVER did anything like what was shown here. I knew when it went beyond just fooling around. There’s a big difference between snarky remarks/being a smartass and being just downright cruel.
Reblogging this because I’m one of those who had to put up with bullying for six straight years. It’s something no one should be forced to go through.
I admit that I did tease some kids a little bit here and there, but it was all in good fun and I never purposefully tried to make them feel bad about themselves. But when I saw some major time jerks bully on some kids just for being different, it always makes my blood boil. I know a person who completely quit school and had to go to therapy due to school bullying, and I sometimes tried to stood up for him, but it had already gone too far by then and the person in question was ruined. I don’t think he’ll ever be able to interact with others normally again, and what happened to the bullies? They were left unpunished, and they just moved on to the next target.
Seriously. What the fuck is wrong with those people?
Also a bullying victim. I had practically no social life during my grade school years, and I still have social anxieties. It’s not fun when entire classrooms turn on you. It’s not fun when you give up on good grades because nothing in your life will go your way. Bullying is a situation I wish on no-one. What I do believe in is severe punishment for bullies because the consequences for letting them get away with destroying social lives is much worse (including kids committing suicide and kids running into schools and shooting others).
We can’t stop bullying, but we can sure cut it down to a hair and let kids that are “different” know that they’re not unloved and alone.

I had a big problem with bullies. My hair was short, my clothes were baggy, and I was unsure of my sexuality at the time. They’d call me things like he-she, faggot, gaywad, dyke, and other terrible things. Even started a rumor that I had sex with my best lady friend in the school bathroom. The people who did it got off scott-free of course.
Which is why I relate to closely to this. Actually, I think we all do to a certain extent. Bullying is a problem that needs a lot more attention than it gets.
